A NEW YEAR AND NEW CHALLENGES!
2012 is now with us and will present the White Horse Cricket Club with new challenges as we enter the realms of league cricket. The club has decided to enter the Wiltshire Saturday League and after assessment from the league’s governing body we have been placed in Division 5.
This will necessitate certain changes in the way we have historically played our weekend matches although the committee
is determined to ensure that we maintain the enjoyment and social factor.
There will still be a healthy number of friendly games as well as of course the tour in August.
The AGM date has been set for Friday 16th March at the Clubhouse and existing members will be formally notified
over the next month.
Potential new members, both social and playing are also welcome to attend the meeting which will commence
at 7.30p.m. (Click here for the agenda)
Another date for your diary is Saturday 30th June when the Cricket Club will be running their second Summer Ball.
The inaugural ball was run in 2010 and was a huge success enabling us to raise funds not only
for the cricket club but also for the charity Breast Care at Ridgeway.
This year’s event will follow the same pattern and again we hope to be able to make a large
contribution to this charity.
Tables are already being booked so don’t delay! Further information will be available on our web site in the near future.
Junior cricket is still an important element within the club and we will be running coaching session and hopefully games through the coming seasons, again more information will be published on the web site soon.
League and friendly games will start late April/early May and pre-season nets will be available prior to then. These facilities and dates will be advertised after decisions at the AGM.
For those interested we look forward to seeing you there.
