2019 Season and a view to 2020!

We had a hugely successful season both on and off the field and cannot wait to get stuck into the 2020 season! We competed in an extremely tough WCCL Division 3 last season. Whilst opposition got stronger, we were struck with multiple injuries to key players through the year. Whilst we were able to compete in every game, we fell on the wrong end of results too often and as a result will be competing in Division 4 next season.

We are looking forward to getting back into the winning swing and competing to get back into Div 3. We had a super successful midweek campaign, competing in the Swindon Monahans Midweek Division 3. We finished top of the table after an exciting season and will be looking to take this form into next season.

We also had an enjoyable feast of Sunday friendlies through the season, offering weekend cricket to every standard of cricketer. These games have been played in a great spirit and we have been on the right side of results more often than not. We held a number of social events on our ground this season including birthday parties and corporate event days that have helped the local community. We welcomed the return of the White Horse 6 aside competition where fun and alcohol were consumed by the bucket load.

2020 sees the return of the White Horse Summer Charity Ball at the ground. An event ran by the club and eagerly anticipated by club members and local folk alike.

Come and Join us!

We are looking to compete on all three fronts again next season and are looking to build our ever-aging squad. We welcomed a couple of new faces to club last season who have settled in well, but the search continues, so if you are interested in taking part in the beautiful game then get in touch.

We are running winter nets in the run up to the season and will also be competing in the Swindon Indoor league through the winter months. We encourage players of all abilities as we compete at various levels. If you would like more information then please contact our captain Nathan Sheffield on 07795598401 or use our Contact Us page.

Building for the Future

Since 2017 we have been supporting the ECB Allstars programme, introducing cricket to 5-8year olds. We signed up circa 30 children for the 8 week course, one of the highest numbers in the County. Blessed with good weather most weeks, the children and the parents enjoyed running around on Friday afternoons, learning the basic skills of the game, and tucking into the BBQ and bar.

Children mostly came from Broad Hinton C of E Primary School, but we also welcomed children from surrounding villages. We hope this will create the next generation of players to keep the club going. Thanks must also go to our Social Members who continued to support us in great numbers this year. It was great to see so many of you supporting us up at the ground at Manor Farm. We will again be supporting the ECB Allstars programme in 2020.

All welcome a social club for all

We are a club for life! Not just for our playing members but also our social members. After every home game you can smell the burgers on the BBQ and people gather from the village and beyond to join us for a beer and a burger whilst taking in some of the cricket.

We run regular social event and fundraisers that appeal to the wider community such as quiz nights, 6 a-side competitions and our famous bi-annual Summer Ball, that is making a return this summer!
